Hindi (Devanagari : हिन्दी) is the most widely spoken of India's official languages. It is spoken mainly in northern states of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. It is second major language in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and it is also spoken alongside with regional languages like Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi or Bengali throughout north and central India. Hindi is also understood in other parts of India as well as in the neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
